How to Scrap a car in Dubai or sell it for parts?

I’m really hoping someone can give me some advice. I have an Audi A4 2011, it has 70000km on the clock and I have just been advised by a garage that the engine is burning oil in one of the cylinders (I.e. that there is an internal oil leak) best case scenario I need to replace the piston and connecting rod at a cost of 20,000dhs worst case replace the engine at a cost of 55,620dhs. The book value of the car is only 37,800dhs so it doesn’t seem to make any sense to invest that kind of money into the car. Has anyone experienced something like this? What can I do? Would the car be worth anything in spare parts? Please help! Thank you

  1. There is no “worst case is the engine change. “ they change the engine if the overhaul cost does not justify it. Otherwise we rebuild the engine
  2. check eBay, look for “rebuild kit” for your car and engine. I’m sure you would find sth for 1000usd max.
  3. go a few more garages. This guy is charging you with brand new Audi prices best case, worst case s/he is cheating. Don’t ever go to him.
  4. I would do this in Sharjah, if you know where to go.
  5. I collect you are a female given your nick. Do some homework and don’t let them to cheat you. (They tend to exaggerate when owner is a female)
  6. I can recommend one garage in Dxb and one in Sharjah if you want. Yet it is not quite hard to learn the basics.
  7. scrap would be 2000aed. It worth to give it a shot to make it work.
  8. the most expensive cars are cheap german cars. Don’t ever buy again if you don’t like Sharjah Industrial Area.

Ps: I just bought another 10years old Mercedes, my 4th German Vehicle in Dubai. I just like Sharjah Industrial Area. ;)
